Miami Children’s Museum

Kids will love learning and exploring at this interactive museum, which includes exhibits on everything from art to construction to marine biology – as well as excellent outreach programs. Be sure to set aside enough time to experience it all.
Jungle Island

For over 75 years, Jungle Island has been a family tradition here in the Miami area. This environmentally sustainable, interactive zoo and theme park is sure to please kids of all ages, with wildlife, a petting zoo, events, and more.
Miami City Ballet

This ballet company is widely known as one of the most respected companies in the U.S. Relying mainly on the works of George Balanchine, it nonetheless visits the artistry of many other notable choreographers and performs many traditional classics to the delight of audiences. The company also operates the Miami City Ballet School, which accepts 375 students each year.
Bass Museum of Art

This cultural powerhouse features global art ranging from the Renaissance to modern times. Its traveling exhibitions are world-renowned, and include works from national and international collectors, highlighting contemporary art, 19th-century paintings, and Asian art.
Miami Beach Botanical Gardens

They may be relatively small in size, but that doesn’t stop the recently renovated Miami Beach Botanical Gardensfrom being remarkable. The garden showcases native Floridian plants and trees, as well as a Japanese garden and Great Lawn for social events. And admission is free!
Miami Beach Convention Center

This huge convention center has been open for nearly 60 years, and is on the cusp of a major renovation, but will remain open throughout the process. While it’s best known now as the site of the annual South Florida International Auto Show and Art Basel Miami Beach, it’s previously hosted everything from political conventions to sporting events.
Lincoln Road Mall

This pedestrian mall was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places; in addition to dozens of shops and boutiques, it includes a movie theater, dining, and even a seasonal flea market.
Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater

The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater has an interesting and rich history, starting as the home of the famous Jackie Gleason Show. It’s survived a planned demolition and now plays host to a variety of concert events and other productions.
New World Symphony

The New World Symphony is the only academy in the entire country dedicated to educating musicians for a career in symphony orchestras. Visiting us between September and May? Be sure to attend a concert of these virtuosos in training.
Wolfsonian–Florida International University

This fascinating museum and library is just steps from our door, and features artwork and design from the late 19th to mid-20th centuries. Highlights of the permanent collections include a wide range of Art Deco and Art Nouveau objects, as well as an intriguing assemblage of wartime propaganda.
